The Story Behind Heart Strong
The heart attack that changed my life didn’t create my purpose. It revealed it.
I Never Saw It Coming
At 48 years old, I thought I was doing everything right.
I exercised.
I ate well.
I was a physical therapist who had spent years helping other people become healthier.
Heart disease wasn’t even on my radar.
Looking back now, I can see the warning signs that had been there for years.
But like so many active women, I explained them away, adapted to them, and kept pushing through.
Then one day, everything changed.
A heart attack revealed that one of my coronary arteries was 99% blocked.
In a single moment, my life looked very different.
Looking Back, I Can See God’s Hand
As frightening as that day was, I’ve realized something since then.
My heart attack didn’t create my purpose.
It revealed the purpose God had been preparing all along.
For years, He had been shaping my life through experiences I didn’t fully understand at the time.
As a physical therapist…
A fitness instructor…
A teacher…
An entrepreneur…
A wife…
A mom…
Every season was preparing me for something bigger than I could see.
Heart Strong didn’t begin in a hospital.
It began years earlier as God quietly prepared my heart for the work He would eventually call me to do..

This wasn't the end of my story. It was the beginning of my purpose.
Why Heart Strong Exists
Today, Heart Strong is more than my story.
It’s an invitation.
An invitation to stop searching.
To stop starting over.
To stop believing your health has to wait until life slows down.
Together, we’ll learn how to care for the hearts God has entrusted to us through education, movement, nutrition, faith, and community.
Not perfectly.
Not all at once.
Just one intentional step at a time.
This Is My Prayer
My prayer is that no woman waits until a crisis to begin caring for her heart.
That together we’ll learn to ask better questions.
Advocate for ourselves.
Take small, faithful steps toward better health.
And discover that becoming Heart Strong is about so much more than preventing heart disease.
It’s about living with purpose—in every area of our lives.
